The moment only
happens once

A proposal shoot is not a portfolio decision. The photos matter, but the real job is not ruining the moment — staying invisible until the yes, reading a signal your partner can't see, and being ready when the plan slips by ten minutes. Everything below is how we take that risk off your shoulders.

Staying invisible

We arrive 20 to 30 minutes early, set up 15–25 meters off, and shoot long — usually a 70–200mm lens — so there is no camera near you. At that distance a photographer reads as a tourist taking landscape photos, which is exactly the point.

We agree on a signal beforehand — something invisible to your partner: a hand to the back pocket, stopping at a specific palm, taking your hat off. The instant you do it we lock focus and don't stop until well after the yes. If your partner clocks the camera anyway, we keep shooting from cover and let the moment carry — the surprise survives a stranger with a lens far better than a fumbled setup.

If the timing slips or it rains

Golden hour is a 45-minute window and proposals rarely run on schedule, so we build in margin. Book the moment for the start of your trip, not the last evening, so a rained-out day still leaves a backup. Overcast light is soft and forgiving and the photos still work; the only real enemy is hard noon sun. If the plan moves on the day, we move with it — the signal, not the clock, is what we shoot to.

Choosing the spot

Bring a location or leave it to us. If you already have a place that means something, we scout the framing and light around it. If you don't, we suggest a beach or cove that photographs well at your date and hour and gives your partner nothing to suspect. The minutes after the yes

The ten minutes after a yes are pure adrenaline — calling family, laughing, looking at the ring — and those frames are often better than the proposal itself. Your session rolls straight into a short couple shoot, so you also have portraits to send with the news the same night. If family or friends are hiding nearby, we fold them in.

What stays private

Your gallery is yours. Nothing is posted publicly without your say-so, and you decide that after you've seen the photos, not before. If you'd rather the whole thing stay off our feed entirely, that's the default — just tell us.

Getting the photos

You'll want to announce it. An edited sneak peek reaches you within 24 hours — enough to share the news that night — and the full edited gallery follows in three days.
